I know enough about turtles to find it odd this one was out and about at the end of November - and I don't know enough about turtles to figure out if it being out and about meant there's something wrong with it.

I did have a nice chat with it and was more than a little pleased it winked at me. Though, at his speed and current metabolism, it's entirely possible this wink was meant for someone who talked to him 15 minutes before I even showed up.

Other than that today has been a Grumpy McGrumperson day. No amount of painted turtle winks can fix that :/
