Today I started a new set of walk checks, all in the Doncaster area. The first one was in Conisborough, a small town in the Don Valley which has a wonderful motte and bailey castle and a fine section of valley. Quite a bit of the walk was through woodland, and I was still finding quite a few fungi, the most photogenic of which were these velvet shanks, truly living up to their name.
