Praying for Sleep

Wife has gone away today to the big lights of the big city to go to a friends wedding reception. We were both invited but given the nature of Baby's ongoing sleep issues one of us had to stay home. It is one of her closest friends wedding so sadly for me getting a nights sleep away was never an option.

Sadly also for Baby Boy who has never gone a night without the need of his mum. Last night in preparation we tried a dry run which was not great but then we sprung it on the Boy so is hardly surprising. We gave him standard milk from a bottle which he sort of liked in terms of holding the bottle and occasionally having some but making me drink it more often. He then lost the plot at bath time and never really recovered until Wife came to give him a cuddle.

Anyway you always need a poor rehersal to ensure a great show so am sure tonight, although a challenge will be fine. So seeing this scrawled on a lamppost before seeing Wife off today and although the spelling is appauling it seemed to be an omen. Baby Boy has already had quite a nap today so maybe he is taking note.

Lets hope so anyway as we have a long Victorian day ahead of us tomorrow. Lets just hope tonight is not quite so long. My mantra will be even if he is crying, time is still moving and soon it will be tomorrow and I shall remind him don't think remain asleep, at least until the morning anyway
