A wet night in Perthshire

I was in Aberfeldy to speak at the launch of a book we had funded: "General Wade's Legacy - The 18th Century Military Road System in Perthshire", part of project that included conservation work to a number of Wade bridges. The launch was at the wonderful Watermill Bookshop, which also has a very nice cafe.

The project - Bridging Perthshire's Past - was carried out by Perth & Kinross Heritage Trust.

It was a pretty dreich drive up with strong winds and heavy rain. Checking into the B&B (a blessing as I didn't much fancy driving all the way back to the Borders), this was the site that greeted me as I dashed across the soaking car park.
