It is Friday!

This is Phil Bennett in full concentration generating fantastic drumming last night at Burgundy's Wine Bar. I very rarely get the chance to sketch drummers as they are tucked in at the back of the group. Last night this group was led by Freddie Garner on keyboards with Jim Collins (sketches of both on website - www.watercolourjazz.co.uk) on alto/tenor sax and Stuart Riley on base. And this very talented group had travelled from Stockport on a wild and stormy night to keep the tradition going of great jazz at Burgundy's. Next week its Geni Lamb, a brilliant saxophonist from Liverpool and more than that she has the most brilliant red hair. And with Kim Weston (see my last week blip) from Detroit, sheer sketching enjoyment to the sound of great jazz and real ale.
