Blue Pools

Driving from Lake Wanake to Franz Josef we stopped off at the Blue Pools to stretch our legs. The pools are fed by water from the glaciers and are absolutely freezing! The water is a clear, bright blue and is surrounded by green forest.

We also booked a guided walk to the Franz Josef Glacier for tomorrow (like Doubtful Sound, the only way to access it is with a guide). I'm feeling a little bit hesitant as the walk we are doing is 8hrs and is advertised for very fit people, the fish and chips are a bit too good here and I think my fitness levels may have suffered... we'll see how it goes. Looking forward to the views.
