Holidays are coming....

This is the extent of Christmas decorations in Queenstown. This one street has these little Christmas trees on its lamposts. That's it.

In the local rag for the past few weeks residents have been complaining to the council about the lack of festive cheer in the town and the council responded by producing these decorations - with a promise depending on the budget to increase the decorations for the following year.

Having come from a city where everything that doesn't move is covered in lights and tinsel it is a little bit of a shock to the system. Where are the trees covered in fairy lights? The giant wreaths, tinsel and the incessant Christmas tunes? I understand it will be summer soon but still!
