"Facing The Crowd"

Another day of rain in Portland (big sigh) and more on the way. Yet another storm front moving in that will bring more rain over the next several days (another big sigh). The rain has just been relentless the last few days. In fact, I think Portland has received a total of 3.5 inches over a 48 hour period (big sigh).

I did manage to get out despite the rain (sigh) and run a few errands before lecture. I took this picture of an art sculpture by Micheal Stutz titled Facing The Crowd. It is located in front of the Portland Timbers football (soccer) stadium. The plaque reads:

"Facing the crowd's dynamic presence becomes a celebration of joy and playfulness. My hope is that these giant totems engage the spectator with their simple and universal theme of maintaining humor in the midst of chaotic urban world."
