This Is My Town

The trees on the right hide my house but this is the corner of the world I'm most familiar with. If you are looking at this in the eastern US the chances are good that the electricity running your computer was generated at one of the three power plants whose smokestacks show in this picture. The bend in the river is one of the sharpest turns on any navigatable river in the country and has long been called "The Devil's Elbow" by boat captains and deck hands alike.
