Year Three

Sophie in the window

Here's one of the cats wonderfully silhouetted on the window.

She's not allowed outside any more, not until she comes up with the $200 she owes us for when she was an outside cat and got beaten up. Not sure if she won that fight, but she was damaged.

So until she pays us back, she's a house cat. And she doesn't seem unduly concerned with staying indoors either. She knows how awful the outside can be as she was a starving stray when we took her in, and I think that "house is comfortable" thing will stay with her for many years yet. Plus she'll live longer as a house cat, but the way she scratches at the carpet that's probably not a good thing (for our carpets).

She can get very territorial if she sees another cat in our yard and she'll howl like a banshee. However, pat her on the head and she'll look at you and meekly 'yow' at you, before checking the yard and howling like a banshee again.
