Yes, Glasgow is totally irreverent when it comes to its statuary; witness the cone-hatted Duke blipped here many a time. Today we had special Glasgow rain too, so the great ferris wheel shot and potential blip had disappointing grey in the background. Then I walked past the Italian Centre on my way to The Merchant City and I had to smile.

You really can't call yourself Mercury and bare your bum in this city without some comic slapping a sticker on your very nice cheek, can you?
