Blackish Oystercatcher

In the UK we only get to have one species of oystercatcher. Down in the Falklands there are two species, one (the magellanic) looks remarkably similar to the UK version, the other the (descriptively named) blackish oystercatcher looks like a very solid 'normal' oystercatcher but with all the white covered up!

The one was just outside Darwin House in East Falkland where I was spending the first couple of night of my Falkland visit.
