Haast Beach

My last stop on my trip was Haast.

Haast is famed for having unspoilt landscape filled with wildlife and native bush. Alas I was only stopping there over night and did not have the means to travel futher in to explore this part of the area.

This was taken at Haast Beach looking out over the Tasman Sea. 5 mins beforehand I had been enjoying a picnic lunch in the sun with another traveller and without warning the wind changed direction pushing great black clouds towards us.

We decided to beetle back to the hostel and no sooner had we closed the door did the heavens open.

The rest of the night was spent indoors playing games wrapped up in blankets!
