Now I'm off to the hardware store to secure a new rubber float for our 82 year old toilet. Luckily we have the second new bathroom, but we do have 13 arriving on Thursday, and 4 staying for the weekend too. I'm hoping I can install and adjust the float properly!

Update, toilet now fully operational, $3.71 in materials, labor, free.
