The Waiting Room
It's not your typical doctor's waiting room, is it? It's at the Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute (PCLI) in Bellingham, and looks more like the lobby at a very nice hotel.
At her last annual eye exam, C learned that she has cataracts and would probably need to have lens implants. It sounded frightening to me, but these days it's a simple 15-minute procedure performed with only a local anesthetic.
C had an evaluation by a specialist at PCLI this morning, and has an appointment for the first implant in three weeks. I drove her to and from the clinic so that she wouldn't have to drive with her eyes dilated.
