Grove of trees

This circular grove of trees lies next to a farm track near home, there is another identical grove on the other side of the lane. The farmer told me that he doesn't know what they are for, he assumes that they are decorative, they don't seem to serve any other purpose.

The farm is called Beech Grove but there are no beech trees in either grove, a bit of a mystery!
