Zaha's Staircase

I was back at Glasgow's new Riverside Museum today; a building which has featured in earlier blips.

This wondrous piece of architecture by Zaha Hadid is full of delights, and this staircase is one of them. The glowing pistachio paintwork and the zig-zag slash of electric lighting, combined with the most beautifully tactile handrails all combine to create something that is truly beautiful.

Riverside opened on June 21st and expects to attract its millionth visitor over the next few weeks; a remarkable performance. As one who has been several times, I can say that each visit reveals something else you haven't seen before. If you haven't been, go.
