Urban Farm Tour

Choosing a photo today was really difficult. I went on an Urban Farm Tour sponsored by the Desert Botanical Garden. We visited four farms - ranging from an edible front yard for a family of 3 to a suburban housing subdivision centered around community gardens and organic commercial agriculture.

This is My Farm Yard. The owner of this house, not far from ours, is a chef who was frustrated by the poor ingredients available in stores and from restaurant distributors. They expanded their own garden and just kept going. Their farm now provides vegetables, eggs, flowers, and soon goat cheese, to 23 families on 1/4 acre! I was really impressed and quite inspired.
