This Mortal Coil

Against all odds this little fern is growing under the house and has managed to find its way through the cracks of the deck.

Talking to an old friend the other day I learned that some other old friends had passed on .....turned up their toes....carked it......fell off the perch.....it got me thinking about this Mortal Coil.

Life Death Rebirth and all of that deep stuff... always raises questions but always lands in the HUGE basket of the mystery.

I guess this little fern reminded me of an embryo striving for the light and continuing life even after we have all gone.

This is not morbid thinking...I just sit in wonder of it all.
