The African Queen?

Nope, the Chelsea Rover! This is our new boat, hand built by Dave Lucas and Howard, of the fabulous Lucas Boatworks. We are cruising down the bayou here. A full view of this cute little boat is in my Blipfolio. It has a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine that "sips" gasoline and it does not go very fast -think put-put-put! Because of the way it is built it can seat about 6 passengers and 2 small to medium size dogs, even though it is small. We have stored it up out of the water, hanging on the davits at my parent's dock where my dad's big boat used to be. My mother was thrilled and thinks it is the cutest boat she's ever seen! The boat was named Chelsea, but my Mom suggested we add Rover, referring to pirates -Sally Rover. A sea rover is someone who robs at sea or plunders the land from the sea without having a commission from any sovereign nation. So it is now named Chelsea Rover. Steven and I will try to keep our plundering to a minimum!

I have many more photos to share but these 2 will have to do for now to give you an idea. The Manatee river was a little choppy today because of the wind but the bayous were sweet!
