Hope for Emergencies

Before...

Someone set off the fire alarm in my building last night, resulting in Sebastian and I spending 1:30-2:30am sitting outside in the cold. Between the BLARING sound of the alarm, the cold, and all the barking dogs, he got pretty freaked out. It took me til 3 to get him to stop staring wildly into space and start purring as usual. Poor guy.

So we had a lie-in this morning and a pretty lazy day. I did some writing and my grocery shopping for the week. Meant to do more, but really just couldn't be bothered in the end. My department is having our Thanksgiving
Lunch tomorrow and these are the ingredients for Paula Deen's "Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cakes" that I make every year. They're in the oven now - I'm worried the cream cheese didn't incorporate properly. I'll find out in about 20 more minutes. I hope I don't have to start all over again at this late hour!
