Plantation Hotel pool

Stayed at this hotel near Crystal River for a few days at the start of our holiday in Florida.

This was taken early evening and we saw manatees swimming in the river just behind the pool, just amazing to see them so close. Will probably come back here again, it was a lovely hotel and nice to get to a very 'un-disney' part of Florida.

We walked round here watching the manatees swim for maybe 20-30 minutes - Gary got bitten to hell in that time and ended up with bites all over his legs. Luckily he doesn't react badly to bites so he was ok. I am fanatical about sunscreen as I burn really easily and always wear one with anti-mosquito stuff in it - it obviously worked as I only got one little bite near my elbow, must have missed a bit!
