At Art Fayre
Today we headed out to another Christmas Fayre. This one though was a bit less jumble sale style of yesterday down at Southsea Castle. Baby managed to stay awake all the way there instead of having his usual nap. The castle is always good as it is a nice contained area for the little ones to move about and it also has a nice cafe. Added to this some of our very talented friends were selling their wares.
Neil is an accomplished illustrator and author, Sadie is a better than Fine Artist and Erica has a magical quality. It was a nice little fayre and we seemed to know a few other people down there too. We managed to get a couple of Christmas pressies on board and it was fun to watch our friends sales skills live up to their artistic talents.
After a bit of a run around and kick about we headed over to the Bandstand just as HMS Illustrious was heading out to sea. It is quite a ship, Sadie, who has an interest in creating works of these battleships was with us and started sketching away as it passed by. It was very interesting to watch her work and amazing to see the fast drawing without taking her eyes away from the ship.
As the cold started to come at us we headed back to the castle. I think our friends did ok with their stall in the end, but should have probably sold more, for more, had more people realised the quality of what they could have bought instead of simply taking a card.
There will be a few people looking them up online tonight kicking themselves for not making an investment today.
