Day 42
This morning we got up at 3.30 to go back to Amakhala so that we could let the Rhino out at sunrise. It was awesome. The rhino that is here now was supposed to go to a hunting farm, but when it was darted and loaded into a crate it broke its horn and so the hunting farm didn't want it anymore, so it got a second chance. It was lovely to see. Then after this we went back to our house and got something to eat before the remembrance meeting at 8 o'clock. It worked out that the new rhino arrived and was released on the one year anniversary of the day that two rhino were poached on Amakhala.
After this we had to go and dart zebra on Amakhala which were being sold to another reserve. A couple of the rangers came with us, as they didn't have any guests and wanted to see what was going on. Stacey taught me how to give the multivite and penicillin injections, which was really cool. In the end we caught 5 zebra, but released one of them again, as it is difficult to see which are males and females from a distance.
We got back to our house at about 1.30. We had some work to do before a meeting Will was going to at 4.30. We managed to get it done and then we showered and got ready to go back to town. When we got back to town we dropped our stuff off at Stacey's mum's and then rushed out to go for dinner with Stacey's dad. It was really nice. Then we went back to Stacey's mums and got ready to go out to a pub for a couple of drinks with her brother. He was really sweet and friendly. We ended up going to another pub which had a dance floor aswell, but we didn't dance much as we were really tired by this point. By the time we got home and we had sat chatting for a while we had been awake for more or less 24 hours.
