Still Waters

Having virtually completed the Christmas shopping at the Trafford Centre YAY... we stopped at the Barton Swing Bridge. Unbelievably just as we parked the car, the stop lights came on and the bridge was being opened up to let a large vessel down the Manchester Ship Canal. As if that wasn't enough, the swing aqueduct was also being activated to let a bunch of barges cross over the Ship Canal. In the end I decided to go with this rather colourful barge as it moved through the canal under my feet, without causing a ripple on the water.
