Biker Chick
This is Caitlin. She's my 16 year old, and number 3 of 4 girls. She loves all the girlie stuff - the make-up, the clothes, the boys *rolls eyes* but underneath it all she's always been a tomboy at heart. She's done kick-boxing, been in the army cadets and is a member of her college's girls rugby team. She absolutely loves it and doesn't mind getting filthy dirty, tackled & bruised.
So, I guess it didn't really come as a surprise when she said that instead of driving lessons for her 17th birthday, she wanted to do her CBT and get a motorbike instead. She's bought all the protective gear - jacket, boots, gloves, trousers and helmet - a really girly one that's white with purple butterflies & swirls all over it and so this morning, Billy decided to give her lessons in the basics of riding a motorbike. So, here she is. This is where she was learning about clutch control & gear changing. I must admit I had visions of her losing control and flying down the hallway (where I was standing!), through the kitchen and out the back door into to back garden. She actually did pretty well though, considering this is the first time she's been on one.
She's sent off her for her provisional licence and once that comes back she'll book her CBT course which means more studying for her. For me, it means more worry lines, more grey hairs and maybe even more wine on the weekends.
