Found this lapel badge among some old things, and began to remember when this became mine. All the schoolchildren in our area were given a tin pencil case with two bars of chocolate fitted in, and this badge. The pencil case and the chocolate are long gone, but for some reason, over many moves and many years, this little badge has survived the ravages of time.

And the occasion for the presentation? The Queen's coronation! And it is so amazing that it will soon be her Diamond Jubilee. What a lot of water has passed under the bridge since 1953! Anyone else have a momento of that day?
