Wee bird in nest.
This morning, Colin the Janny showed me the spot where he had discovered a bird's nest - in the courtyard which the kids use at breaks. It's tucked right into the corner, and is well hidden by plants and shrubs. He only came across it when he nearly stood on it washing the windows!
He says that there were 2 eggs in it, but that one of them hatched this morning. Before I could get a look at the egg & chick, mum came back and sat in the nest.
The telephoto lens came in handy, but I am still not sure what the bird is - maybe a thrush?
Anyway, I shall try and get another shot sometime this week.
I had problems this morning, though, trying to get a shot in focus. I had my camera (a Canon Rebel XTi) on manual as usual, but had the autofocus on. Every shot was blurred. I tried to make an adjustment using the dial which is on the camera for spec wearers, but the focus was still out.
I know, however, that I need my spec prescription checked. Would this make a difference? Or am I just being stupid?
I am also wondering if I damaged the actual camera when I let it fall on Saturday; I know that I knackered the ordinary lens. But, I used the telephoto lens on manual to take yesterday's blip. It seems O.K.
I ended up on fully automatic, and the flash came on - but as the corner was quite dark, it did help.
Oh, I hate when something goes wrong with the camera; it's like having a friend not being well........
I would appreciate any advice out there!
