Window Into My World

An evening at The Lowry - Peter Hook and The Light

Overwhelmed with photo opportunities today - Salford Quays is an interesting area architecturally with the bridges, The Imperial War Museum and The Lowry itself. Once it went dark the area changed again into a kaleidoscope of lights and colours.

It was hard to choose one photo for today, but I decided to go with the reason we were there, and submit one of the performance of the two Joy Division albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer (plus singles) by Peter Hook and The Light. Much debate surrounds this but for my part it was a fantastic performance which just makes me appreciate Joy Division more and more. I had a front row seat and to see the performance in such detail was brilliant. The guitarist in the picture is Nat Wason - fascinating to see him play.

I was lucky enough to see Joy Division way back in 1979 and last night I felt lucky again.

For art lovers amongst you we also visited the Adolphe Valette exhibition - a real pre-gig treat as I have one of his prints (York Street, Manchester) in my lounge.
