genius

This was taken early this morning at the quinzaine zooscope event - a collective of artists, performers, film makers who set up a 2 week cinematic feast, showcasing local talent and some of thier favourite films.

We got to see a funny quirky short film called Eskapop by Geraldine Rod and Lionel Rupp, and 3 documentaries: Maye et fils by David Maye which was so touching it made me cry, Snack Bar Aquario by Sergio Da Costa & Good bye Mandima by Robert Jan Lacombe which was also very poignant.

This was followed the first vin chaud of the season followed by many more and for us
it ended with the spectacular genius of my blip subject, Pierre Audetat.

A Lausannois musician who takes samples from YouTube and by wiring them up somehow to his keyboard, he plays funky rifts and jazz beats using the samples that are also visual. It's like he's conducting an audio visual orchestra by the touch of a keyboard. He is also the guy who created the music for the new film Quai Ouest by Lionel and Adrien Rupp out soon (and translated into English by me)!

If you like film and music, goggle them & check 'em out!
