Green Bug

When you have a dog like I do, who likes to chase squirrels up trees and then likes to sit under the tree staring up at them until her master gets bored, you end up studying things at the base of the trees and in this case, things crawling on the bark. The bright green of this bug really stood out against the muted colors of the bark. He was standing still when I first spotted him, but then, when I got my camera up close to him, he became quite active. I think he was looking for a crack in the bark to hide in. Maybe that's where he spends his winter.
