Kiss Me, My Prince

While helping a friend locate her golf ball, I discovered this oh-so-unique horned toad in the desert just off the cart path. Actually, he's not a toad, not a frog, but a member of the iguana family.

I gently moved a long prickly piece of grass away from his handsome face. Held my breath to see if that action scared him. He didn't move a muscle. Didn't puff himself to twice his size to scare me. Didn't spew blood from his eyes (that would have been pulling out all the stops to get rid of me). I clicked the shutter five times and thanked him for the opportunity.

This little hunk is surely the true frog prince of fairy tales. Look at that crown of horns on his head, and those manly spines down his back. A true sign of royalty.
