Beaver Top Award!
This morning was full of 'poorlyness' in our house! I was seriously worried especially about my Cub with very bad diarrhoea. But miraculously by lunch time we all seemed to turn the corner ready for the Beaver presentation!
As usual there was the mad flurry of ironing (and sewing!) and getting ready but left on time to pick Grandma up and go to the venue. We were shown to our seats in the big function room and there must have been about 100 scouts of different ages there with their families waiting to be presented with their certificate and the county woggle. We were very proud to see him go up and shake the County High Sheriff's hand and then pose for his photo. It was a long process with all those other scouts going through the same thing. Afterwards we managed to have a nice chat with the High Sheriff and get a better photo of him with the Beaver!
The picture is off his badges and his woggle. Should get his actual Bronze Award badge on Tuesday. He got it as he has gained all six of the square challenge badges.
Afterwards we went out for a lovely tea on Grandma (thank you again Grandma) and then collapsed when we got home and have been in bed ever since!
Just had a phone call to say Grandad had landed safely (remember he has his scuba holiday in Egypt?) but had landed back in Gatwick! Engine failure over Albania on route to Egypt so they turned round and came back!!! Poor Grandad - he hopes to fly tomorrow instead!
