A Day in Stockbridge
I'm in Edinburgh this weekend!
Last night I met Ola for a coachy chat at Black Medicine. She gave me this posh Hungarian Tokaj which I'm really looking forward to drinking. The coffee is better than average here but only compared to the chain cafe's. Quite a traditional Italian type roast and very uncomplicated flavour.
Rosemary and I then met my friend Neil for a curry at Kushi's. Pretty tasty but not outstanding. The nan breads were very good though.
Today I'll admit I was a bit of a baby. We went to Stockbridge to do an elephant hunt with Rosemary's friends and their kids. I got bored way too quickly as it wasn't my type of thing but I tried to keep smiling and have fun! I did look in some cool shops though and chatted to a nice guy in a gallery! Fancied this painting but I didn't have a spare £1000 this weekend.
I did get a visit to Ian Mellis the Cheesemonger though, as you can see in my photo. I bought this lovely Irish Cheese called Ardrahan Smoked. It was really amazing...buttery and zingy with rind that tasted of mushrooms. Very smooth too and thoroughly recommended.
Best bit of the day was picking berries off a tree and throwing them at everyone. I encouraged 7 year old Ben to do the same and we had a great old time. Before hometime we went into Ronde...coffee and bike delight. I had a strop though as it's chilled but grown up and I would have prefered to go elsewhere with the kids.... I capitulated though as I knew I was being unreasonable and had a good time.
Yayyy Glentress tomorrow!
