Construction in a cold climate

The new 'Spiceal Street' construction in the middle of the Bullring. We were bemoaning that it's all resulted in two (crap) restaurants and totally obscured the view of the beautiful church. Birmingham so desperately needs some decent mid-price restaurants (we have good stuff at either extreme) but instead we get some chains who function in chill-cook mass catering. Ugh.
