Jay, the Jay
I'm just about at the point where my pictures are going to be coming out of my kitchen. It's 31 degrees out, and windy. I stood out in the wind at the mill-pond for about a dozen ducks, and maybe a dozen minutes. Just too cold.
When I came home from driving my doctor, my bird feeder was empty. I put out a couple of peanut-butter-filled wafers, and a handful of peanuts. It attracted 3 squirrels, 3-4 chickadees, a couple of blue jays, and 1 tufted titmouse. Of course..the squirrels hogged the feeder space.
The jay waited patiently for his turn to glide in. It amazes me that they can wrap those tiny claws around the wires, and still keep their balance.
2nd or 3rd snow flurry of the year, but my first picture of it. My dogs and I hate to see it coming. Mildly depressing.
