Celebrating our Team
Today at work was a bit of an epic one.
We had a visit from a team from the Royal College Of General Practitioners to assess that practice for the RCGP Quality Practice Award. We had done a lot of work over the last 18months and presented an extensive portfolio.
Today's assessment visit involved 4 assessors who didn't leave a stone unturned and worked themselves and us very hard.
Their verdict was what I already knew, but was glad to hear, a resounding endorsement of how fantastic a team I work with, who aspire to the highest standards in relation to core work of providing patient centred, high quality medical care for our patients.
I often feel that I (we) are slow to recognise this, being often our hardest critics. So after the visit and the kind and encouraging words of the assessors, we openned a few bottles of bubbly and celebrated a team effort, an outstanding achievement, loosened up a bit and laughed a lot as we told and retold some of the stories that are part of the history of this place.
Nice.
