Aire valley from Ramshaw
We did our third Aire Valley walk today, again from Carleton in Craven. We climbed Ramshaw and should have had wonderful views up and down the valley from the ridge but the grey weather wasn't on our side. ( Unlike our last walk from Carleton three weeks ago where the views were stupendous - here
We disturbed lots of Pheasant and Grouse from there grassy hides and they either squawk up into the sky or run comically away like Road runner.
At the end of the walk we saw some 17th century alms houses with an outer minstrels gallery which would look less out of place in Spain.
Almshouses - unexpected in the Aire Valley
A lovely village.
