Beautiful blues

Awash with infants today and they all have colds ! However, I tried something new today and did some work based on Sean Scully  who went down very well. I love doing art with the smalls for they all ooh and aah at every picture you show them and once you get over the fraught potential for spilled water, flicked paintbrushes, ruined sweatshirts and all pristine paint colours ending up brown, a good time can be had  by all. It's also fascinating to see who has 'it' - blindingly obvious even aged 5, and it's not always the ones you would expect. Smallest boy, who can be a right terror, 'got' Sean Scully perfectly and did a magnificent piece of work full of interesting shapes and colour combinations.

Coming home, the colours on this old dinghy caught my eye - obviously still in an arty mood.  Something a bit Greek about these blues, or maybe a pre-Raphaelite tile?
