Grizzly

You don't want to brush up against this grizzly prickly pear cactus.  

The tiny needles from these small clusters are nearly impossible to get out of your skin.  (And this voice of experience can tell you they hurt!)
I really liked how this shot turned out because the sunlight cast shadows on each of the clusters, which is no small feat because of the size of these little nubs.  They are really small.

Something about this shot made me really fall in love with it.  Perhaps it's the culmination of my transition from the east coast to my attachment to my new home.

I have truly come to love my surroundings and the sometimes mystical place I feel in it.
