Gran Vendema

I have finally succumbed to the illness that has been hanging over me for the last few weeks. Its horrible, but I am starting to feel a little better now. Well enough to grab a glass of wine for my blip. I have decided to start giving wines a wee review. After all, it's good practise for me and hopefully useful for others.

So the gran vindema is what I am drinking tonight and is essentially marques de caceares' overproduction. They rebrand and then sell at a reduced price.

It straight off reminds me of red jelly babies, almost sweet and confected. Juicy red fruit, minimal tannins making it a perfect red for drinking on its own. It also has a refreshing quality to to its finish which continually makes you want one more sip!

Overall, not overly complex, but a fine easy drinking red which will keep you coming back for more.
