Flying High
Back home today after a fortnight in Florida - lots of back blipping still to be done, I'll try and catch up over the next week or so.
As you've probably guessed, this is a quick photo taken out of the plane window as we flew back to Gatwick. I did miss a lovely sunrise a bit earlier but in my defence a) I'm really scared of flying and b) we were undergoing major turbulence and the aeroplane was bouncing around a bit!
It was the worst flight I've ever been on so I was very relieved to get back on solid ground at 9 am or so this morning. I even found myself trying to remember how to say a few Hail Mary's, that's how bad it was! The pilot did reassure us that it felt a great deal worse than it actually was, the turbulence was due to some really strong winds and was nothing to worry about - his quote was 'it's no worse than the Harry Potter ride at Universal'! You couldn't pay me enough money to go on one of those rides though so that didn't help me that much!
I think we were all relieved to be back on the ground, especially as it was really foggy coming into Gatwick, the pilot even had to brake sharply when taxiing to the stand - not sure whether he could actually see where he was going!
We had a great holiday, very relaxing and chilled out - seems a long way away already though. Looking through the billion or so photos we've taken will bring the memories back...
