Spirit of South Shields

The 'Spirit of South Shields' by the artist Irene Brown harbours a ship safely in one arm whilst raising her other arm in greeting. Commissioned within the new housing development at Market Dock the sculpture has now been adopted as South Tyneside's image of regeneration.
