Hope
Daylight came as a disappointment this morning when the warm encompassing of the predawn darkness lifted to reveal a gloomy cloud covered sky save for this early display of colour, which to begin with gave a five minute curtain of promise that a sunny day was in store. One could but hope.
We had intended to walk along the canal to our favourite erstwhile funeral parlour for a coffee, when on the way we bumped into a friend who was on our to- do-lunch list; a list that we never get around to dealing with.
Fate has its own way of forcing one's hand, and so a provisional date has been set subject to wifely confirmation, but not before we retraced our steps to the Dower House when his Lordship produced some cakes (bought, he's not that domesticated!) and coffee, and we had an in depth blether as you do with someone you haven't seen or chatted to for far too long.
My friend o.m.t's is occupying my time this afternoon and so my early morning blip which might well have been discarded for something better, must stand.
