Public Footpath Survey

Months & months ago Ann volunteered me to take part in a public footpath survey. This involves me being very observant on my walks and noting down such things as the condition of stiles, fences, signposts, etc. etc. onto maps using special codes. Obviously Ann will have to do that bit as my paw writing isn't very neat!

After thinking that nobody wanted a volunteer collie, today, we had to go on a training course. I was given the usual little pep talk before we went about how I should behave. I was a very good girl when we were walking about and I could hear people saying how well behaved I was. Ann was very, very proud of me.

But just look at all these maps we've got. Our initial patch is Lelant where we've got to check out paths across the golf course and along by the beach. Ann says if we manage to do this section OK we might volunteer for more sections as the whole of St Ives, Carbis Bay & Lelant needs to be surveyed.

I am going to be a very busy collie on my walks for the next couple of weeks!

PS - We asked the trainer what was going on with the
locked gate that we found on our walk through the seven fields on Thursday. He is going to investigate for us.
