Intriguing life

Drawn back to Freetown

Don't know if a blip of a picture counts....but I love this photo so much and seems poignant today

It's of 'Peace Bridge' in Freetown, Sierra Leone and I love the school pupils walking over it and the 'plan for success' mobile phone advert above them.

I loved the work I did there, I wish blip was around then (but I did write a blog back then and here are my entries from Freetown

I am always drawn to that project and the amazing young people we worked with, all of whom had been involved in some ways in the conflicts in Ireland and Sierra Leone. Getting under the skin of war, remembrance, peace....that's why it hangs on my front room wall....it's powerful memories

(ps the original photo is by a colleague Simon Williams who is awesome photo person and I'd give me right arm to be a tenth of the photographer he is!)
