Bellowhead vs Stormtroopers

Today's blip was to have been of Stormtroopers, who, alongside Darth Vader, Spider Man and Alvin and The Chipmunks made an appearance at this year's Christmas Parade alongside the more usual Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men on camels, tap dancing turkeys, Santa, reindeer, dancing Christmas puddings...

As the parade got under way, I got the message - that Bellowhead gig I'd believed was the end of the month was indeed tonight, so, sorry stormtroppers...

Bellowhead are my favourite live band, and even though tonight's show felt a little too slick in parts, it was still a wonderful experience.

I think that the picture was taken during their emotional version of Jacques Brel's 'Amsterdam.' The first time I saw them perform it live I was transfixed, I'd been familiar with versions by David Bowie and Scott Walker, but they somehow managed to bring something new to it.
