Celebrated the birthday of a chère amie at the beautifully opulent Rhubarb restaurant at Prestonfield House - it really is a rather lavish venue for a dinner.

3 courses for £30 - phenomenal value when you consider the location, the quality of the service, and of course, the divine meal we had.

After dinner, we retired upstairs to this semi private salon - the Leather Room - for coffee and petit fours. Adorned with various objets d'art, and with a roaring fire, it rounded off a wonderful evening in this urban country home.
