Bombed

I headed off to the craft fair this morning a lot earlier than I would normally - but we were unable to get into the school last night night to set up as we would normally.
So I was expecting to have to drag out tables and chairs etc.
However ....... I didn't.
The janitorial staff had been really good.

After setting up my stall and having loads of time to waste before opening I got the camera out to take some snaps ....................... no memory card!
No problem --- phone SWMBO and ask her to bring a card to me when she came back from her trip into Edinburgh .................... no phone!.

Ah well.

It wasn't a great start - and it didn't get much better as the day went on.

The numbers coming through the door were well down on normal and people were not spending - which is daft really because everything in the fair is very well priced and made .... by hand.
Unlike a lot of "craft" fairs there is no buying cheap, shoddy goods for the far east and selling them for a fast buck.
Talking to the association treasurer we came to the conclusion that taking are down to about 1/3rd of those 5 years ago.

The local festive lights (I am not going to use the C word) were switched on today and it turned out they were having a fireworks display as well.
I only found out about that when the noise started ..... so I rushed up stairs with a camera and handheld it to get these shots.
