Steller's Jay
We've been seeing these birds at every park we stop at, but this is the first one who wasn't camera shy. The colours when flying are amazing, but they're just too quick in flight for me to catch anything more than a blurry tail.
This was taken at the Oregon Dunes Park, where there's a huge dunes system stretching for miles down the coast, and quite a way inland. The weather wasn't great today though, so all the big shots were a bit grey and hazy, but this little guy saved the blip-day!
Nice to be back on the coast, hoping for sunnier weather over the next few days. Currently feeling like a beached whale after a huge crab quesadilla (no way you could call that a starter) and scallops, washed down with some of that fine Oregon IPA. Nice.
